The marketing landscape moves fast. Between the shift toward AI-integrated search and the growing demand for high-end visual storytelling, staying ahead is no longer an advantage. It’s a necessity.

Last month, our marketing community gathered at The Orange Tree, Derby, for our latest Marketing Mastered LIVE. It was an evening of high-level strategy, networking, and direct insights into the tactics that will drive your growth in 2026.

If you couldn't make it to the event, here is exactly what you missed.

Our Managing Director, Rob Twells, set the tone for the night. With over 14 years of leadership in the digital space, Rob acted as our strategic lead, introducing our guests and moderating the sessions.

Rob focused on connectivity. During our live Q&A, he sat down with our speakers to dig into the nuances of their talks. This ensured our audience walked away with answers that actually applied to their specific business challenges, not just generic advice.

Lydia Fox: Moving from Keywords to "Entities"

Head of SEO | Serpify

Lydia challenged the room to think beyond traditional blue links. Her talk, "The Off-Page Signals Behind Visibility in Search and AI Answers," highlighted that search has shifted from keywords to entities.

The AI Citation Secret: AI Overviews and LLMs like ChatGPT decide who to cite based on Training Data and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation). To appear in an AI answer, you need high-authority editorial backlinks and consistent brand mentions across the web.

GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation): Traditional SEO is about ranking a page, but GEO is about being selected as a trusted source.

Takeaway: If you're invisible in traditional search, you'll be invisible in AI.

Brady Wright: The "Attention, Trust, Conversion" Framework

Content Producer | Brady's Board

Brady Wright tackled the common pitfalls of small business content. His presentation, "Why Your Small Business Content Marketing Isn’t Working?", provided a lethal framework for 2026.

The 82% Rule: As of 2026, 82% of all internet traffic is video. If you aren't using video, you're missing the vast majority of your audience's attention.

The ATC Framework:

Attention: Use targeted hooks, like "You're decorating your bedroom all wrong, here's why."

Trust: Use behind-the-scenes content and case studies.

Conversion: Be direct with your purpose.

Takeaway: Consistency beats virality. Stop focusing on "aesthetic" and start focusing on your tribe.

The highlight of the night was the energy in the room. We believe the best marketing insights happen when you leave the pitch at the door and real conversations begin.

We want to thank the partners who made the night happen:

The Orange Tree: For providing the atmosphere and keeping the drinks flowing.

The Pantry: For the top-tier canapé spread that kept everyone fuelled.

Don't worry if you missed this one. Marketing Mastered returns in July. We're already curating the lineup, featuring more industry leaders and sharper tactics.
