We’re back for another Room 301 LIVE! An informal, friendly event for the marketers and business owners of Derby to meet, learn, and share knowledge with one another.
This time from our new location at The Orange Tree in Derby!
And just like last time, we’ve got two excellent marketing speakers discussing all the latest trends and topics in the marketing world. Followed by a Q&A session with our host, Rob Twells, and you – the audience. Who’s speaking?
As ever, there’ll be free food and drink and plenty of marketing chat with other like-minded folk in digital. We can’t wait to see you there!
Owner, Scribble Mail
In 2005, organisations were making big money using direct mail with more than 20 billion letters being sent each year. Fast forward to 2024 and that number fell to just 7 billion. Organisations started to use email marketing more and more and it worked – it was new and exciting getting an email on your new Blackberry or iPhone. So everyone switched to email… Email saturation happened, and now every person I know moans about spam emails.
This is a huge opportunity for direct mail to kick back in and return big lifts in new business and customer retention but hardly anyone is doing it, and those that are are still using the same letter and copy from 1995.
In this presentation, I’ll be sharing the key features to show you exactly how direct mail can deliver real, consistent results, either as a stand alone campaign or partnered with social media, and email marketing. I’ll even share a campaign we use to bring in more than £250k revenue over a 2 year period.
Marketing Manager, SEO Testing
In SEO, guessing is expensive and assumptions are dangerous.
This session walks you through the full lifecycle of SEO testing, from creating hypotheses worth testing to choosing the right test type to measuring the impact with confidence. You’ll learn why we’ve been running SEO experience all along (without even realising it), and how to make it deliberate, data-driven, and repeatable.
Whether you’re an in-house marketer or you’re agency-side, you’ll leave with a clear, practical framework for testing your way to more traffic.
